About
JOANNEUM RESEARCH HEALTH supports developers of subcutaneously (SC) administered therapeutics, including monoclonal Antibodies (mAbs). We provide critical in-vivo data on local absorption, bioavailability, and tissue interaction to optimize SC formulations and accelerate clinical translation.
Core Services & Applications
• Local Pharmacokinetics & Bioavailability: Continuous monitoring of drug deposition, local recovery, and systemic absorption directly from the subcutaneous interstitial fluid using dermal/adipose Open Flow Microperfusion (OFM).
• Large Molecule Capability: OFM’s patented, membrane-free probe design allows for the sampling of large proteins and high-molecular-weight molecules (like mAbs) without clogging or molecular filtering.
• Tissue Compatibility & Tolerability: In-vivo and ex-vivo screening of local injection-site reactions, inflammation biomarkers, and tissue compatibility of high-concentration formulations.
• GLP Bioanalytics for Biologics: High-throughput GLP-compliant quantification of mAbs and biopharmaceuticals in tissue samples and systemic circulation via advanced immunochemistry (MSD, ELISA) and LC-MS/MS.
