Hike & Dine Umbrüggler Alm
Wednesday, October 09, 2024, 17-22
Starting point
Hungerburg Innsbruck, Hungerburgweg 5, promptly at 5:00 PM
We will hike together, accompanied by four mountain guides, to the Umbrüggler Alm.
The hike
The short hike from the mountain station of the Hungerburgbahn (857 m) to the Umbrüggler Alm (1,123 m) above Innsbruck is 2 km long, takes about 45 minutes and covers an altitude difference of 250 meters.
Arrival
You can reach the starting point of the hike either by car or by bus:
- There is a (paid) parking lot at Hungerburg (Hungerburgweg 5, 6020 Innsbruck).
- You can also take bus line J, which is free of charge with your IVB Conference ticket.
Please get off at the final stop, "Nordkette," and walk 50 meters up to the stop "Theresienkirche," or get off directly at the stop "Theresienkirche" (the first stop on the way back to the city).
(Please note: Alternatively, you can take the Hungerburgbahn, but it is not included in the free public transport ticket for Innsbruck.)
Equipment
The wide but rocky path leads through the forest with a moderate to steep incline. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes with good tread, especially if conditions are wet. We will provide lamps for the return hike. We also suggest bringing an extra T-shirt and a waterproof jacket.
Important note: If you choose not to hike with the group, you do so at your own risk.
Dinner at the Umbrüggler Alm
Prepare to be delighted by the stunning views, the pleasant ambiance, and a wonderful culinary experience.
